Defending Fineline Graphics/Madcap Racing Engines Top Dragster Champion Trevor Larson entered the 2025 season on a clear mission: defend his 2024 title—and if possible, add to it. By season’s end, Larson had done exactly that, capturing not one but two West Central Division 5 championships. Along with successfully defending his Fineline Graphics Madcap Racing Engines Top Dragster title, Larson added the 2025 Super Gas Championship to an already impressive résumé.
Larson’s Super Gas campaign gained momentum with two strong finishes, highlighted by a victory at Brainerd International Raceway during the second event of the weekend. That win propelled him forward in the points chase and set the tone for the remainder of the season. He sealed the deal by advancing to the final round of the second Tulsa Raceway Park event—an event that began in Tulsa and concluded at Texas Motorplex after a rain delay.

On the national stage, Larson continued to chase excellence, traveling across the country to compete at NHRA National Events. His consistency paid off with a third-place national finish, earning him the coveted No. 3 designation on the side of his Super Gas dragster for 2026.
In the Fineline Graphics/Madcap Racing Engines Top Dragster category, Larson came out swinging early. He opened the season with a victory at Tri-State Raceway and followed it up with a runner-up finish at Yellowstone Dragway. Through steady, consistent performances throughout the year, Larson successfully defended his 2024 title, becoming the back-to-back Fineline Madcap Top Dragster Champion in the West Central Division.

These two championships add to an already full trophy case in the Larson household—but for Trevor, the hardware represents far more than individual success.
“Winning a Wally—it's not just what it means to me, it's what it means to my entire family,” Larson shared. “As a family, we put so much into racing: our cars, travel time, and hours spent in the shop. Holding the Wally at the end of an event gives us a sense of accomplishment and proves that all the time and effort was worth it.”
Larson shared with us mid-season that he never truly knows which class he will campaign in his dragster at the start of each year. After taking a couple-year hiatus from Super Comp, he debated returning to the category, but an early-season win in Top Dragster at Tri-State Raceway quickly clarified his direction.

“I never really know what class I’m going to race at the beginning of the season,” Larson explained. “I was debating getting back into Super Comp after taking a couple-year hiatus. My Top Dragster win at Tri-State pretty much made my mind up to go for it again.”
Top Dragster proved to be the right choice for Larson in 2025, as he captured the championship with 291 points, edging out Mark Grame in second with 282 points. Matthew Kreft completed the top three with 260 points.

In Super Gas, Larson claimed the title with a commanding 375 points, followed by Rodger Sauder with 309 points and Corey Bentley close behind in third with 308 points.
For his efforts, Larson has also been nominated by his peers for Sportsman Driver of the Year. The winner will be announced next week at the 2025 West Central Division 5 Champions Banquet.
With two division championships, a national top-three finish, and an unwavering focus on the numbers, Trevor Larson’s 2025 season was nothing short of remarkable—a true testament to consistency, strategy, and family dedication.
