Quick Draw Showdown debuts in Stock/Super Stock

INDEPENDENCE, MO.  (May 21, 2025) - The NHRA West Central Division is proud to announce a new program for Stock and Super Stock that will debut at Tri-State Raceway during Qualifying Session #2 at the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event.

During the second session, racers in Stock and Super Stock will have the opportunity to enter the Quick Draw Showdown. Entered participants in each class will battle for the best (non-red) reaction time during Q2. The program will cost $20 to enter and the winner will receive $400, with the runner-up taking home $100 in each category. Racers for Christ will collect entry fees in the staging lanes before Q2.

"We are always looking for ways to incorporate more competition and more fun into our LODRS events", Nick Duty said. "The Quick Draw Showdown will make a great addition to the Comp Duel in the Lanes and the Laris Super Shootouts. We think this will add even more excitement to Stock and Super Stock Qualifying."

In the event of a tie for 1st or 2nd place, the winners will be decided by who earned the reaction time first.

- Tri-State Raceway (Earlville, IA) – May 30–June 1

- Brainerd International Raceway (Brainerd, MN) – August 14–17 (Doubleheader)

- Tri-State Raceway (Earlville, IA) – September 5–7 (Season Finale)
