Logan Wernet Captures 2025 West Central Division 5 Stock Eliminator Championship

The 2025 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series season in the West Central Division 5 delivered another thrilling championship battle in Stock Eliminator, and when the final points were tallied, Logan Wernet of Mason City, Iowa, emerged as the division champion.
Piloting his wheel-standing ’62 Plymouth Belvedere (E/SA), Wernet put together an impressive and consistent season. His championship run included one divisional victory, one semi-final appearance, and two quarterfinal finishes, earning him a total of 393 Division 5 points and securing the Stock Eliminator title.
Wernet was followed closely by Ellis Buth, who finished second in the standings with 316 points after a strong and competitive season. Rounding out the top three was Dennis Lund Jr., who claimed third place with 295 points, completing a hard-fought championship podium in one of the most competitive categories in the division.

The NHRA West Central Division is also proud to announce two new additions to the High & Mighty Hall of Fame, who will be inducted during the 2025 Champions’ Banquet. This year’s inductees include multi-time World Champion and Minnesota-born Pro Stock legend Warren Johnson, along with the Sunflower Rod and Custom Association (SRCA Dragstrip) — the organization that played a pivotal role in hosting the first NHRA National Event in 1955. Both will take their place among the pillars of drag racing history in Division 5.
