2024 Division 5 Super Stock Champion

Heading into the Double at Brainerd International Raceway just 21 points behind the points leader Jason DeForrest in Super Stock— and on the hunt for back-to-back championships.
As we gear up for the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Doubleheader at Brainerd International Raceway (August 6–10), we caught up with past champ Tyler Wudarczyk for a quick Q&A on racing, pressure, and preparation. Here's what he had to say:
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮?
𝐀: “Winning a Wally is the overall goal when I leave the house each race. Being able to win each one is gratifying knowing what all goes on behind the scenes at the shop as far as preparation.”
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐡𝐲 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐞?
𝐀: “Not nearly enough.”
𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐰𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐃𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝟓 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 — 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐡𝐚𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐦?
𝐀: “Winning one early gives a person the drive to make a concerted effort in chasing division points. As far as momentum goes, I would have had a little more if I’d made a late round showing in Race #2 at STL.”
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐚𝐭 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐝?
𝐀: “The opportunity to race at one of my favorite places.”
𝐘𝐨𝐮’𝐫𝐞 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝟐𝟏 𝐩𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫 — 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐁𝐈𝐑?
𝐀: “The past 3 years, I haven't looked at points until late September. I figure if you're doing well, people will tell you. My mental and physical prep doesn’t change — I just try to be the best version of myself and be where my feet are.”
𝐀𝐬 𝐚 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞?
𝐀: “I don’t feel any pressure at this point. The championship in 2024 was great, but it only means that 2024 was a good year. It doesn't affect 2025 for me.”
𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐬?
𝐀: "My wife Micala and kids Andie, Emma, and Blake. My dad Tim Wudarczyk and Wudarczyk Performance Engineering, Landon Stallbaumer, Gary Stinnett and Jason Ruge at Stinnett Racing, Todd Rogers and Jason Swift at Goodyear, Doug Cook and Dennis Lund at TBM Brakes, Jimmy DeFrank at California Car Cover, Troy Ross at CR's Tire and Auto, and Nick Duty and Paige Hamlin at Division 5 for their work at the events and the added social media presence."
Tyler has already locked in his spot to compete at BIR, August 6–10! Don’t wait — get registered today!
